How to WATERMARK PDF online

  1. Select your PDF — Click Select file or drag and drop your PDF into the upload area. The file is read into your browser and never uploaded to a server.
  2. Enter your watermark text — Type the text you want stamped on each page — for example DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, or your company name. Up to 80 characters.
  3. Adjust opacity and rotation — Use the opacity slider to make the watermark subtle or bold, and pick a rotation that works for your document layout.

No. The watermark tool runs entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. Your file is read locally, watermarked locally, and downloaded locally — it never touches our servers.

Will there be an AIToolsBridge watermark on my output?

No. The only watermark on your output is the text you choose. We don't add a brand ribbon, banner or footer.

Can I watermark only specific pages?

Yes. Choose All pages (default), First page only (cover sheets), or Last page only (signature pages) from the page selector.

Can I change the watermark color?

Yes. Pick from preset colors (gray, red, blue) or stay with the default soft gray. Opacity can be set anywhere from 5% to 100%.

What is the maximum file size?

Because the tool runs in your browser, the practical limit depends on your device's memory. Most modern devices handle PDFs up to ~200 MB without issue.

Can I add an image watermark like a logo?

The current version supports text watermarks only. Image-watermark support is on the roadmap for Wave 2.

Will the watermark be removable?

The watermark is drawn into the page content stream. A determined user with a PDF editor can still remove it — for true tamper-proof watermarking, use a digital signature or DRM. This tool is for visible deterrence, not encryption.

Does it work with encrypted or password-protected PDFs?

Read-only encryption is read in compatibility mode. Fully password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked first.

Are my files safe and private?

Yes. All uploads happen over HTTPS, files are processed in isolated jobs, and the source and output are deleted automatically once your download is ready. We never share, index or sell your documents.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Anonymous users can run up to 10 conversions per day for free. Signed-in users skip the captcha and get a smoother experience.

Is the tool really free?

Yes — there is no credit card, no trial period and no hidden fees. The free tier covers everyday document needs without any watermark on the output.
